We’ve always been impressed with Ocean Treasure and have said on many occasions that it’s arguably the best Chinese in the city. So when owner Simon Yip and manager John Lee invited a few of the office down to try out the new menu, we jumped at the chance!
We could hardly wait and chose to dine on the first available night we had in the calendar which happened to be a Wednesday. A perfect mid-week treat. The restaurant was fairly quiet when we arrived with only two or three other tables occupied, but as 8pm approached there wasn't a spare table in sight. The restaurant was filled with a great mix of couples, birthday parties and group bookings creating a lively and exciting atmosphere. Who said midweek dining was on the decline? Ocean Treasure is clearly doing something right.
Being regulars to the restaurant and with Simon wanting us to sample some of the new signature dishes, John took charge of the ordering for us this evening to make sure we got to sample new dishes, along with some of our old favourites in the mix.... [click here to read the full review]
The two ventures are both expected to push for the city's first Michelin star/s in decades. When the stars are handed out in September, at least one seems all but certain to secure the accolade.

Manchester co-operative Future Artists are planning on launching a pay as you go coffee shop. Honest Coffee would charge 5p a minute, or £3 per hour, which will entitle customers to unlimited coffee during their stay.
