Moso
Moso Chinese & Thai Restaurant Manchester - reader
comments |
"I
feel that Moso Moso is an ideal place for a relaxed meal with
family and friends. There is no pretentiousness
here. The food was delicious and fairly priced.
The menu was extensive and included Chinese
and Thai cuisine. We had a banquet which was approx £15
each and included soup, a hot platter (wings, ribs, prawn
toast seaweed etc) then one main dish each with a choice of
rice or noodles. I cannot fault the food at all and there
was a chef standing in the restaurant making hand spun noodles
which was a nice touch. I feel the staff were a little
over attentive at times, rushing around, snatching
plates from under you the minute you had finished, but I suppose
it is better for waiters to be over attentive than not there
at all! I was quite annoyed by the automatic 10% non
optional service charge. I will quite happily tip
if the service is worth it. On my visit, there was a large
group of us and as you can imagine 10% service charge amounts
to quite a lot - we reluctantly paid. I won't be rushing back
to Moso, but if you are looking for a relaxed place to eat
delicious authentic Chinese and Thai food, then I would recommend
here, but keep in mind that additional charge because you
might have a shock when the bill comes."

"Overall
Moso Moso is good. The food was absolutely
delicious, no problems there, it is probably one
of the best Chinese restaurant meals I have had. The restaurant
itself leaves a lot to be desired. The decor is very
basic and not much effort has been put into
laying the tables. The menu was huge
- which I suppose is good but it was very overwhelming especially
when the over attentive staff didn't give
us the time needed to look through the whole thing and absorb
it. The restaurant was very clean and the
staff did their jobs properly, but the whole place had a very
canteen feel about it, very noisy and I felt
quite rushed. The final problem lay in the compulsary
10% service charge. I am happy to tip, but when your
are forced to pay it I feel it is quite money grabbing especially
when there is a large group of people, the 10% charge
can amount to quite a lot. I won't rush back to Moso, but
I imagine I will go again"
