Gio Italian Restaurant - member's reviews

"Although I had booked a table at Gio Ristorante for four before a concert at the Bridgewater Hall, we were asked if the table was suited or if we would prefer to change. The staff knew that we were on a deadline but not once did we feel rushed. The food arrived promptly and hot, freshly cooked and the waiter did not miss asking us if we would like more drinks, coffee or dessert. It was my friends' first experience of Gio Restaurant but already they're planning their next visit."  - Julie Jones, Knutsford ~ NEW MEMBER (17/11/10, visited on a Monday evening)

Trusted Reviewer "My husband and I found Gio to be very welcoming on arrival with plenty of customers chatting away. The food wasn't exceptional, although the dishes were tasty and quite generous in size. We had a garlic bead that was OK, a good cold mixed shared starter and a pasta dish each, all washed down with a very good and reasonably priced Italian red. We did feel rushed having 3 courses within just over an hour and it's a shame waiters can't ask you after your courses if you would prefer to wait a little longer. At the end of the meal we did consider returning to Gio to try some of the other dishes as the menu did have a great choice on there. Unfortunately we won't be doing as our bill arrived with the dreaded 10% service charge included. By the way, pay on a credit card and you'll be asked if you wish to add a further gratuity. What is daft is that without this service charge we would have tipped and returned again at a later date." - michelle, rochdale 19/2/09 (visited on a friday evening)
