Czech Please
The highly-acclaimed Linen restaurant at Manchester235 has appointed a new Head Chef with Jaromir Hlavsa moving over from the Malmaison.
"Jarda", as he is affectionately known locally, originally trained at a private culinary college in his home city of Prague before working his way up the ranks at the Radisson Alcron Hotel, (recently crowned the first hotel in the Czech Republic to receive a Michelin Star), before moving to the Manchester Malmaison in 2004, where he was made Head Chef in 2010. ~ 29 Jun

Red Hotter Than Ever
Red Hot World Buffet has officially unveiled its second floor with a glittering launch event. Other news
Following the long but successful Pride Of Manchester-backed battle to prevent Peel Holdings and Ian Simpson Architects from building an ugly block of apartments on the old Jackson's Wharf plot in Castlefield, the long-time derelict building is set to re-open on 3rd July as The Wharf, a 370 cover bar and restaurant from local operator Brunning & Price. ~ 28th June 2012

Exchange Bar & Grill at Salford Quays has made way for The Matchstick Man, a new pub from Hungry Horse. It's aptly named with The Lowry being located close by. ~ 25th June 2012
