Bruco - Launch

Everyone's favourite food driven burb, Ancoats, now has another string in its culinary bow in the form of Bruco. 

Located in the heart of Ancoats, Bruco promises to bring a unique dining experience to the area, offering an array of Italian small plates and a carefully curated wine list.

Bruco is the brainchild of Ethan Harvey, a passionate hospitality enthusiast with a rich background in interior design and construction. Having lived in and around Manchester for the past 5 years, Ethan's vision for Bruco was to create a warm and inviting atmosphere where guests can enjoy authentic Italian cuisine in a beautifully designed space. His expertise in interior design is evident in the restaurant's elegant and contemporary decor, which perfectly complements the vibrant energy of Ancoats.

The culinary team at Bruco is led by Head Chef Cosimo Torlo, born in Muro Lucano just outside of Naples, who brings with him a wealth of experience and a deep love of Italian cuisine. Chef Cosimo's menu features a variety of Italian small plates, each crafted with the finest ingredients and inspired by traditional recipes from his homeland. 

Bruco's menu features a selection of Italian small plates, with fantastic price points ranging from £4 to £20. Guests can enjoy dishes such as;

• Truffle mushroom and Parmesan Arancini (£6)
• Prosciutto with Peach (£8)
• Pork Cheek with Spezzatino Di Pomodoro & Focaccia (£14)
• Octopus with butter beans and capers (£14)
• Bruco's signature slow-cooked short rib Lasagna (£16)

The wine list is equally as impressive, offering a variety of Italian wines starting at just £24 a bottle, along with favourites by the glass including Gavi and Primitivo. Bruco also boasts an enticing Spritz cocktail list, from a classic Aperol Spritz to their speciality Limoncello Spritz. 

Ethan brought in the experienced Mike Jennings from The Hospitality Hut to oversee the project. Using his 27 years of industry knowledge, Mike will be supporting Bruco with menu development, training and all things operational. Mike spent 10 years working in Michelin starred restaurants alongside his decorated career and has a keen eye for detail when it comes to restaurants.

Mike said “Bruco will be an excellent addition to Ancoats and we can't wait to welcome diners from all over to enjoy our little taste of Italy”.

Bruco will be open from 8am to midnight, Wednesday through Sunday, providing a perfect spot for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Whether you're looking for a cosy place to enjoy a morning coffee, a leisurely lunch with friends or a romantic dinner, Bruco is the ideal destination.
