Chinese New Year is just around the corner and that marks the first day of the Lunar New Year which is honoured by many Asian countries including Vietnam (as well as China, of course). Dragon Parade & Chinatown Celebrations

ALBERT SQUARE & CHINATOWN

Follow the 175ft dragon as Manchester's famous Dragon Parade starts in Albert Square at 13:00 arriving in Chinatown at 13:30 to firecrackers and New Year speeches from the Chinese community leaders. The Lion and Unicorn will then bless Chinatown's businesses and the 60 food, arts and crafts stalls whilst a funfair, acrobatics, dancers and musicians entertain the crowds until the firework display at 18:00.
