"I went to Kro Bar on Oxford Road, by Manchester University, for an afternoon lunch. It is more of a bar food place, rather than a restaurant. You order your meal with drinks at the bar. The menu is varied and very reasonably priced - ideal for lunch or a simple meal after work. I had Blue Stilton & Leek Gnocchi and my friend had Cajun Chicken on Foccacia with salad and fries. As we were feeling particularily greedy, we also had cake and coffee afterwards - this was very pleasing as they have a deal where you can have any cake and coffee for £2.50 - bargain! All of the food was tasty and fairly sized, no complaints. The bar also had a wide range of drinks stocked, with an interesting selection of beers and ales. This place isn't going to blow your mind in terms of fine dining, but it is not about that - Kro fills the void between poor quality pub grub and restaurant food - it provides good quality, reasonably priced, home cooked food, in a relaxed pub/bar type location." - claudia, manchester - TRUSTED REVIEWER since Dec'08 (30/4/09 visited on a saturday afternoon) |
