Punjab Tandoori Indian Restaurant Manchester - member's reviews |
"The Punjab is the only 'pukka gen' Indian on the Curry Mile and easily the best. The Byriyani is fantastic, highly recommended." - John Wilkinson, Manchester 15/8/09 (visited on a Saturday evening) |

"We are are going back on Saturday evening for the fourth time. On each occasion we have visited Punjab, the food has been excellent and very reasonably priced. The waiters are friendly and warm in welcoming you to the restaurant. Both our sister and brother are vegetarians, and rave about the quality of food available for them here. Don't expect the standard of decor to be as good as the standard of food, however, for us, that really doesn't matter. Would recommend for families, people on a budget who still appreciate good food, couples (not for a romantic evening out), and groups of friends" - Debbie and Chris, Manchester 8/12/08 (visited on a saturday evening) |

"I'm always sceptical when I read rave reviews of Wilmslow Road restaurants - generally the decor is tatty, prices are high, food quality poor, toilets disgusting and the service often abrupt, which can be forgiven for the number of drunken and abusive customers they normally have to deal with. However curiosity always makes me pay a visit. Sadly Punjab Tandoori fell short of the quality of Akbaars, Lights Of India, EastZEast and Shimla Pinks in the city centre. I opted for the Punjab mix which was tasty but nothing special. The usual soggy poppadoms, greasy naan bread and over-priced menu that I've come to expect on the curry mile were present, as were the toilets, that are in need of an upgrade. That said, the staff were friendly and compared to the competition on this stretch it would still be recommended." - matthew, manchester 17/4/07 (visited on a monday evening) |
