"Chapel Walks must be Manchester's best street for great restaurants - Chaophraya, Bacchanalia, Brasserie Blanc, Sam's Chop House and Grinch! This plush pizzeria and wine bar from the Felicini chain boasts fantastic decor with great little touches like menu's printed on brown envelopes and a different 1950's pin up decorating the cocktail list on each table. The wonderful, well-priced menu offers many pizzas given a twist - like Greek and Chinese toppings, whilst there's also tasty classic American Cheeseburgers and Club sandwiches. The service on our recent visit was up there with the best we've received in any restaurant in Manchester, the waiter taking time out to ask where we'd been beforehand and even returning later to ask what our plans were for the rest of the afternoon. Our only gripe is that the tables are extremely cramped together and on previous visits, it can get incredibly loud (especially downstairs) when it's busy, which unsurprisngly, it can be on most evenings. Certainly one of the best pre-theatre, post-shopping restaurants in town and with so many good restaurants on this street you'll never be disappointed if your first choice is fully booked and you end up in another." - Neil, Restaurants Of Manchester 25/2/08 (visited on a sunday afternoon) |
